Bec Melrose is an award winning writer and comedian.

After winning Australia’s biggest comedy competition RAW Comedy, Bec exploded onto the scene, delighting audiences with her razor sharp wit and socially conscious edge.

In her first year, Bec placed in Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s So You Think You’re Funny competition and was selected for the prestigious Comedy Zone showcase at Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Her debut solo hour opened to sold out audiences and was nominated for Best Comedy.

Now, Bec tours the country with her comedy, is a regular on ABC radio and spends the rest of her time writing for TV. She has appeared on ABC TV’s Question Everything with Wil Anderson, WTFAQ and Comedy Up Late. Her writing credits include Gruen, The Weekly and Question Everything.

Absolute Goose toured Sydney Fringe Sideshow, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival. The show celebrates people who don’t give a flock in a joke-packed tribute to the absolute goose in all of us.

Big Dolphin Energy, 2019
Bec’s debut solo hour Big Dolphin Energy took on class and exploitation in modern workplaces. The show opened to standing room only and was nominated and shortlisted for Best Comedy at the 2019 Sydney Fringe Festival.

Ibis: Your City, Our Bins, 2018 - 2019
Bec’s heartwarming and hilarious character show Ibis: Your City, Our Bins was selected for the Sydney Comedy Festival’s Fresh program. After delighting sold-out audiences, Ibis was welcomed back for a sold out encore season and numerous appearances.
